Meet Ayra Starr

Born in Cotonou, Benin, and raised between Benin and Nigeria, Ayra Starr has become one of the recognizable voices of modern Afrobeats. Her music blends contemporary African pop with R&B melodies and a confident, youthful style.

Signed to Mavin Records, Ayra has built an international following through her recordings, performances and collaborations. "Ms. Paper" appears on her 2026 album Starrgirl, released through Mavin Records and Republic Records.

Meet Theodora

Theodora is a French-Congolese singer and rapper whose music draws from several contemporary genres, including rap, electronic music and Caribbean-influenced sounds. Her distinctive approach adds another dimension to this collaboration.

On "Ms. Paper," the two performers move between English and French, bringing different musical backgrounds into the same recording. The result demonstrates how African and diaspora artists can connect across languages without losing their individual identities.

Fashion, Dance and African Creativity

The official video matches the song's playful energy with bold styling, choreography and expressive visuals. Directed by thinkakanni, it gives both artists space to show their personalities while highlighting the collaboration's international character.

For RAPfrican, "Ms. Paper" is a celebration of African musical creativity reaching beyond borders. From Nigeria and Benin to France and the Congolese diaspora, this release brings different cultural influences together through rhythm, style and performance.
